Ib Lanzky-Otto joined the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Stockholm as Co-Principal Horn at the age of 20 in 1961 and assumed the role of Solo Horn in 1967, succeeding his father, Wilhelm. They continued to perform together until Wilhelm's ultimate retirement from the orchestra in 1974.
